PASTEF denounces remarks attributed to Arona Coumba Ndoffène Diouf, a member of presidential party Kiiraay, which it interprets as a call to eliminate Ousmane Sonko. The party asks Dakar’s prosecutor’s office to examine the matter and appeals to President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, according to a statement reported by Seneweb.

Senegalese party PASTEF-Les patriotes is calling for an investigation after remarks attributed to Arona Coumba Ndoffène Diouf, a member of Kiiraay, the presidential party, who allegedly called for a plot to eliminate Ousmane Sonko. In a statement, PASTEF called on the Dakar prosecutor’s office to respond immediately, saying the acts could constitute an attack on state security, according to Seneweb.

The party also appealed to President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and asked him to end the offences it attributes to members of Kiiraay. PASTEF says it wants to protect its leader and is calling for the strict application of the law by the public prosecutor, according to Seneweb.

The request follows several public statements targeting Ousmane Sonko, including an accusation of disloyalty made on 25 October by a member of the Diomaye Shields.
