Nigeria's Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has called on young people and leaders in the north of the country to support the re-election of Bola Tinubu. He made the call while receiving an award from the Arewa Revival Project in Abuja, Leadership reports.

Akpabio said that backing Tinubu was necessary to advance his administration's development agenda. He also promised to support initiatives aimed at young people, particularly in education, skills acquisition, entrepreneurship and economic integration.

The coordinator of the Arewa Revival Project, Muttaka Ahmed Ibrahim, said the award recognised Akpabio's contribution to democratic governance and national development. He called for increased cooperation between political leaders, community organisations and other stakeholders to address the difficulties affecting the north of the country.

The call comes after that of a women's organisation, which also urged voters to return Bola Tinubu to the presidency in 2027, on 27 October, in a call to re-elect the Nigerian president.
