Senegalese MPs are due to examine the 2026 supplementary budget bill in plenary on 3 November, after two committee rejections. The bill adjusts state revenue and expenditure, with debates focusing in particular on public investment and energy subsidies, according to the National Assembly’s notice.

The 2026 supplementary finance bill (LFR) will be examined in plenary by Senegal’s National Assembly on Tuesday 3 November from 10am, after being rejected twice in committee. The notice, signed on 30 October by Ousmane Sonko, president of the National Assembly, lists bill No. 40/2026 on the agenda, according to 24 Heure Info.

The bill provides for adjustments to the state budget to reflect changes in public revenue and expenditure. Committee debates focused in particular on expected revenue, public investment and energy subsidies. The minister responsible for finance, Cheikh Diba, had requested on 27 October that the bill be referred back to committee to continue consultations.

On 30 October, the Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Planning sent MPs responses to the concerns raised. It warned that prolonged uncertainty could complicate the mobilisation of the funding needed in 2026 and increase pressure on state cash flow, according to 24 Heure Info.

The session follows the rejection of the 2026 supplementary budget by Senegal’s committee on 25 October and the Senegalese Assembly’s examination of the bill on 26 October.
