Vermeg comes under Advent’s control, Ouali remains a shareholder

US fund Advent International has signed an agreement to acquire control of Vermeg, a Tunisian software publisher for the financial markets and life insurance sectors. Founder Badreddine Ouali will retain a stake and the vice-chairmanship, while Abu Dhabi Investment Authority will become a minority co-investor, according to Business News.

US fund Advent International has signed an agreement to acquire Vermeg, a Tunisian software publisher serving the capital markets and life insurance sectors, the group announced in London on Monday 2 November 2026. The deal will see Charterhouse Capital Partners exit, while Vermeg founder Badreddine Ouali will retain a stake and remain the group’s vice-chairman, according to Business News.

Abu Dhabi’s sovereign wealth fund, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), will participate in the transaction as a minority co-investor. No amount was disclosed. Vermeg provides financial institutions in Europe with software for post-trade processing, collateral management and life insurance policy administration, among other services.

Advent plans to accelerate Vermeg’s investment in its products, artificial intelligence capabilities and international expansion. Douglas Hallstrom, a managing director at Advent, cited increasingly complex regulatory requirements, the harmonisation of post-trade processes and concerns about the sovereignty of financial infrastructure as reasons for the fund’s interest in the company, Business News reports.
