Tunisian fuel transport workers have announced a three-day strike on 23, 24 and 25 November 2026 to demand implementation of the 2 May 2019 agreement. The action is to affect all companies in the sector across the country, according to the union notice cited by Business News.

Workers in Tunisia’s fuel transport sector have announced a three-day strike on 23, 24 and 25 November 2026, across all companies in the sector and throughout the country. Union representatives cite failure to honour the agreement reached on 2 May 2019 and the lack of a resolution to their professional and social demands, according to Business News.

In their strike notice, workers’ representatives say the situation infringes their rights under Articles 376 bis and 376 ter of the Labour Code. They are calling on the authorities and the parties concerned to intervene to resolve the dispute and avert a work stoppage.

The dispute follows several episodes of mobilisation. On 20 August, a spontaneous protest by tanker-truck drivers disrupted supplies, particularly in the oil zone of Radès, causing difficulties at service stations and long queues in Greater Tunis. A sector-wide strike planned for 23 and 24 September was announced after a union meeting on 26 August, with demands including coverage of workers by the National Social Security Fund and implementation of the 2019 agreement.

Negotiations continued as the September deadline approached but failed to produce a final compromise. The Tunisian General Labour Union maintained the mobilisation, while the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts disputed the union’s position, reports Business News.
