Shell Trading Rotterdam signed an exclusive purchase agreement with Green Sky Manara for 150,000 tonnes per year of sustainable aviation fuel, or an equivalent volume of HVO, as well as bionaphtha and biopropane. The future Nador West Med plant in Morocco is expected to come into operation in October 2028, according to Yabiladi.

Shell Trading Rotterdam, the Dutch trading arm of energy group Shell, signed a long-term agreement on Monday with Green Sky Manara, a subsidiary of Green Sky Capital, to purchase up to 150,000 tonnes per year of sustainable aviation fuel or an equivalent volume of renewable HVO fuel, as well as bionaphtha and biopropane, Yabiladi reports.

The fuels will be produced at a future plant in Nador West Med, Morocco, which is scheduled to come into operation in October 2028. Richard Jory, Shell’s executive vice-president for products trading, said the agreement was part of the group’s strategy to supply low-carbon fuels.

The contract follows the launch of the eastern terminal at Nador West Med, inaugurated on 31 October. The complex also includes a western terminal, expected in April 2027, which will bring total capacity to 5.3 million containers. The site includes a 700-hectare industrial and logistics platform.
