UNGE’s rectorate reopened enrolment in Bata on 3 November after closing it at the end of October, and sent a commission to inspect the faculties. The architecture and engineering programmes are accepting applications until 10 November, while the Faculty of Humanities has a building ready for the 2026-2027 academic year but is still waiting for its furniture, according to Radio Macuto. The Faculty of Health Sciences is offering students without places the option of transferring to other programmes.
The situation comes after the introduction of shuttles to Basupú, announced on 15 October to transport UNGE students from Malabo. The university had transferred several faculties to the locality, about 15 kilometres from the capital, according to the article published on that date.
