Trump says deal between Washington and Iran remains possible

Donald Trump said a deal between the United States and Iran could still be reached despite stalled talks. The statement came as fighting continued in the Middle East, according to L’essentiel.

US President Donald Trump believes a negotiated agreement with Iran could still be reached. “Iran wants a deal, as quickly as possible. It could happen!” he wrote on his Truth Social network on Monday, saying that falling oil prices reflected the likely absence of a new war with Tehran, according to L’essentiel.

US Vice-President JD Vance said on Monday that Donald Trump and he were “rather optimistic” about the chances of reaching an agreement to end the war with Iran, according to L’essentiel.

The statement came after the talks between the United States and Iran stalled, as reported on 1 November. It also came the day after Donald Trump announced the suspension of operations against Iranian leaders, on 2 November.
