Donald Trump says the war between the United States and Iran will end soon, while demanding guarantees that Tehran will not obtain nuclear weapons. He spoke on Kansas City radio station KCMO on 30 October, as diplomatic efforts continue, reports the Zambian Observer.

US President Donald Trump said on 30 October that the war between the United States and Iran would end soon, while saying Washington was demanding guarantees that Iran would never obtain nuclear weapons. He was speaking to KCMO radio station in Kansas City, reports the Zambian Observer.

The statement comes as US officials warned regional allies that renewed strikes on Iran after the 3 November midterm elections were possible, according to an Associated Press account cited by the outlet. Diplomats briefed on the warnings referred to operations that could last several days and the risk of Iranian retaliation against energy and other critical infrastructure in the region.

Trump has not made a final decision on further military operations. Diplomatic efforts involving Qatar and other regional intermediaries are continuing, according to the Zambian Observer.

These statements follow reports on 1 November 2026 of threats of new US strikes near Natanz. They also come as US-Iran talks were described as deadlocked in a report published the same day.
