Security forces interrupted on Saturday evening in Lyndiane, in Ziguinchor, a Pastef mega-rally organised by Waly Diouf Bodiang. The police cited the overrunning of the time set by the authorisation, according to SeneNews, amid political tensions between Pastef and the presidential coalition Kiraay.

Security forces interrupted on Saturday evening 7 November a Pastef rally organised in the Lyndiane district of Ziguinchor, citing the overrunning of the time set by the authorisation, reports SeneNews.

The intervention came as most of the speeches had already been delivered before the supporters gathered for the rally. Waly Diouf Bodiang, former director general of the Autonomous Port of Dakar and speaker at the rally, said the speech was over, according to SeneNews.

Security forces thus ended the gathering before its conclusion. The incident occurred amid political tensions between Pastef, the ruling party in Senegal, and the presidential coalition Kiraay, according to SeneNews.
