The Alliance des forces de progrès (AFP), the party led by Mbaye Dione, holds Senegal's parliamentary majority responsible for the rejection of the amended finance bill and the request to withdraw the initial finance bill. Meeting on 7 November 2026, its leadership denounced an "organised sabotage" that threatens public investment and the country's financial credibility, according to the party.

The Alliance des forces de progrès (AFP), the Senegalese party led by Mbaye Dione, holds the parliamentary majority responsible for the rejection of the amended finance bill (LFR) and the request to withdraw the initial finance bill (LFI), according to the resolution adopted by its collegiate leadership on Saturday 7 November. The party describes these budget blockages as "organised sabotage".

The AFP believes the conflict over the budget texts threatens the functioning of the state, public investment and Senegal's financial credibility with its international partners. The party also considers that the situation weakens the economic fabric and compromises prospects for recovery, according to its resolution.

Mbaye Dione and the AFP's leaders finally consider that political clashes at the top of the state are taking precedence over economic and social emergencies, according to Seneweb.
