Oluremi Tinubu mobilises APC women for 2027

Nigeria’s First Lady Oluremi Tinubu called on women members of the All Progressives Congress to turn their support into votes in the 2027 general elections. At a meeting in Calabar, she called for grassroots mobilisation and party unity, according to a statement reported by Punch.

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, on Sunday called on women members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State to step up grassroots mobilisation to secure votes for the party in the 2027 general elections. She was speaking at a strategic meeting of APC women in Calabar, according to a party statement cited by Punch on Wednesday.

Oluremi Tinubu asked them to organise door-to-door campaigns, activities in markets, church meetings and prayer gatherings, stressing the need to convert political support into votes at polling stations. She also called on members to set aside their differences and vote for the APC at all levels. The meeting was organised by the APC Presidential Campaign Council’s women’s mobilisation directorate to consolidate the party’s local structures in Cross River.

The mobilisation comes after the promise on 2 November by the governor of Cross River to secure a victory for Bola Tinubu. It also follows the defence on 3 November in Calabar of Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms by Vice-President Kashim Shettima.
