The Malian General Staff says Operation Dougoukoloko struck, between 2 and 3 November, a logistics base near Niono, a gathering of fighters south of Tessalit and a position near Gourma-Rharous. Surveillance and sweeping operations are continuing, according to the EMGA statement.
The Malian General Staff of the Armed Forces (EMGA) announced the destruction of three armed positions between Niono, Tessalit and Gourma-Rharous as part of Operation Dougoukoloko. The strikes targeted a logistics base housing armed vehicles 30 kilometres east of Niono, a gathering of fighters 28 kilometres south of Tessalit and a concentration point struck twice south-west of Gourma-Rharous, on 2 and 3 November, according to an EMGA statement published on 3 November.
The Malian General Staff called on local populations to co-operate with the defence forces as surveillance and sweeping operations continued. The targets were located between the central agricultural basin and the desert areas of the north, according to the EMGA.
The strikes follow the operation carried out in three regions announced on 30 October and the dismantling of a base in Mali reported on 1 November. They extend a series of operations announced by the Malian army since 1 October, notably against logistics bases.
