At an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally in Calabar, Adams Oshiomhole criticised opposition candidates Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, questioning their records and promises for Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election, Business Day Nigeria reports. Oshiomhole, a former governor of Edo State and the APC’s mobilisation official, was defending the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
He accused Atiku, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, of returning to Nigeria only during election periods and going back to Dubai after the polls. Oshiomhole also questioned the record of Peter Obi, the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate. The allegations were made to APC supporters at U.J. Esuene Stadium in Cross River State.
Oshiomhole also claimed that about 5,300 students from Cross River had benefited from the federal NELFUND student loan scheme. He presented the scheme as support for young people facing education costs and defended investment in infrastructure and co-operation between the federal and state governments.
His attacks on Atiku follow the criticism made on 2 November by Oshiomhole over Tinubu’s Umrah and Atiku. The previous day, the governor of Cross River had also promised Tinubu a victory in the state in the 2027 presidential election.
