A controlled delivery operation conducted by the Central Office for the Suppression of Illicit Drug Trafficking led to the arrest of two suspects in Dakar, after hashish was found hidden in shoes from Casablanca. A third man, presented as the recipient, is being sought, according to Libération, cited by Senego.
The Central Office for the Suppression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (Ocrtis) arrested two people in Dakar in an investigation into alleged hashish trafficking between Casablanca and the Senegalese capital, reports Libération. A third man, presented as the final recipient of a parcel, is being sought.
The case began on 31 October, when a Senegalese guide who regularly travels between Casablanca and Dakar reported a strong smell coming from shoes. Police discovered eight hashish pellets, divided into 32 balls hidden in the soles. After replacing the drugs, Ocrtis organised a controlled delivery operation to trace the network.
The first suspect, M. M. Mbacké, 25, was arrested at his home in HLM 5, where investigators found a ball of hashish and two partly used blister packs of Alprazolam. R. Kane, 28, presented as a sales representative, was then arrested in Soprim Extension. She reportedly admitted to acting as an intermediary and provided the identity of the wanted recipient.
