MINUSCA chief Valentine Rugwabiza visited the UNICEF warehouse in Bangui on 5 November, which is dedicated to delivering medicines and medical equipment to remote areas. A representative of the Central African health ministry said the supply chain should improve the availability of reliable products and limit the circulation of poor-quality medicines.

MINUSCA chief Valentine Rugwabiza visited the UNICEF warehouse in Bangui on 5 November 2026 to examine the mechanisms for supplying and distributing medicines, medical equipment and other supplies to remote areas of the Central African Republic, reports Centra-News.

UNICEF representative in the Central African Republic Félix Ackebo stressed that this supply chain should help reduce maternal and child mortality and promote children's schooling. Central African Health Ministry representative Samuel Gondje, for his part, stressed the importance of the warehouse in ensuring the availability of quality medicines and warned of the risks associated with poor-quality pharmaceutical products.

The visit is part of cooperation between MINUSCA, UNICEF and the Central African government to regularly deliver medical products to health facilities, particularly in isolated localities. It follows Central African preparations against Ebola, whose level was assessed at 68% on 18 October.
