A dispute concerns a 104 million naira Mudarabah investment and alleged withdrawals from Jaiz Bank customer accounts in Jos. Habiba Abdulrahman, a former bank operations official, is at the centre of the case after her dismissal in January 2026, according to Daily Trust.

Customers of Jaiz Bank, a Nigerian Islamic bank, protested on Monday outside the Jos branch in Plateau State, demanding repayment of funds they say they lost following alleged withdrawals from their accounts. The dispute concerns in particular a 104 million naira Mudarabah investment and certificates of fixed-term deposits that police suspect were forged, according to Daily Trust.

The customers say the transactions were carried out at the branch using documents approved by the bank and are calling for the intervention of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). They say they were informed by management that the funds had been transferred to several accounts by an employee, Habiba Abdulrahman, a former deputy operations head of the branch, according to Daily Trust.

The Plateau State Police Command's Criminal Investigation Department opened an investigation after a complaint from the director of the Jos branch, Victoria Amidu, in January 2026. In findings dated 19 June 2026, police accused Habiba Abdulrahman of conspiracy, fraud and fraudulent dealings with the affected customers, according to Daily Trust.
