Ghana to require online health declaration from 12 November

Ghana Health Service will require all travellers arriving in Ghana to complete an online health declaration before departure from 12 November. The measure aims to strengthen health risk surveillance and authorities' preparedness, according to the Ghana Health Service in a statement dated 7 November.

All travellers arriving in Ghana will have to complete an online health declaration before departure from Thursday 12 November, the Ghana Health Service (GHS), the public service responsible for health surveillance in the country, announced. The form must be submitted via the GHS electronic health declaration portal, according to a statement dated 7 November.

The GHS said the measure aims to strengthen public health surveillance, monitoring of potential health risks and the preparedness of authorities. The service asked travellers to complete the form before departure and airlines, travel agencies and other relevant actors to inform their passengers of the new requirement.

The measure follows the introduction, on 3 November, of screening for all travellers arriving in Ghana, with monitoring for 21 days.
