Ghalibaf says Americans voted against war

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf says US voters rejected war after Republicans’ defeat in the midterm elections. He supports the message while warning Washington against resuming strikes on Iran, MyJoyOnline reports.
US President Donald Trump said he did not regret the joint attack carried out with Israel against Iran in February, despite the defeat of Republican candidates in the midterm elections, according to MyJoyOnline. He said the conflict would end “when I say it ends” and referred to the rise in petrol prices among the consequences that influenced the vote.
Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said a change in US hostility towards Iran was unlikely. He warned that the war could take “much broader dimensions” if it resumed.
The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps also claimed that four oil tankers caught fire after hitting naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz. Tasnim news agency reports that two vessels were still burning and two others had been intercepted, but BBC Verify found no evidence confirming the destruction of four tankers. The British UKMTO centre reported that an oil tanker had been hit by two unknown projectiles about 26 kilometres from the strait.
