Thabiso Ndwandwe, known by his stage name Obsession, has been building a DJ career since 2017 while continuing to work as a teacher. Based in Mbabane, he describes his university beginnings and first performances, according to the Times of Eswatini.

Eswatini DJ Thabiso Ndwandwe, known as Obsession, is building a career in Afro-House and the three-step subgenre while also working as a teacher. Aged 31 and based in Mbabane, he began teaching himself to DJ in 2017 while studying at the University of Eswatini, reports the Times of Eswatini.

His first public performance took place at a DJ competition held on campus. His first regular bookings then focused on Manzini, notably at Ekhayeni Chillaz and Solanis. Obsession says he prefers selecting tracks that share the same sound direction, with songs dominated by percussion and a cappella vocals.

Producer Mancoba Msibi of Lion King Studios contributed to the development of the Obsession brand. The DJ nevertheless considers access to the international market and securing gigs outside Eswatini his main challenges, while the international attention he has recently received represents an important milestone for him, according to the Times of Eswatini.
