Congolese opposition coalition C64 begins a European tour on 26 October 2026 to mobilise chancelleries for inclusive national dialogue in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Martin Fayulu, Moïse Katumbi, Jean-Marc Kabund and Augustin Matata Ponyo are among its leaders, reports Le Pays.

The Congolese opposition coalition C64 will begin a European tour on 26 October 2026 to mobilise Western chancelleries in favour of an inclusive national dialogue in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo). The initiative, led notably by Martin Fayulu, Moïse Katumbi, Jean-Marc Kabund and Augustin Matata Ponyo, will pass through Rome, Brussels, Paris, Madrid and London, reports Lepays.

The move seeks to put pressure on Kinshasa as political tensions intensify over the possibility of a third term for President Félix Tshisekedi. The security crisis in the east of the country has also been worsened by former president Joseph Kabila’s entry into rebellion, according to Lepays.

The tour follows the C64 coalition’s debate in Brussels on its position towards Joseph Kabila’s front on 19 October, as part of a series of initiatives calling for dialogue in DR Congo. It also follows Burundi’s call for inclusive dialogue at the United Nations on 4 October. The coalition had already debated its position on Kabila’s front, while Burundi had called for inclusive dialogue in DR Congo.
