Real Madrid beat FC Barcelona 2-1 at Camp Nou on the 10th matchday of LaLiga, thanks to a brace from Kylian Mbappé, the Madrid club’s French forward. After opening the scoring in the 41st minute, Mbappé scored the decisive goal in the 87th minute, according to La Nouvelle Tribune.
Raphinha had equalised for FC Barcelona in the 61st minute, but Real Madrid resisted the Catalan side’s pressure. Barça finished the match with 57% possession and 16 shots, six of them on target, compared with nine shots and five on target for the Madrid side.
The victory came after Mbappé was called up by José Mourinho for the Clásico, announced on 24 October, followed by his opening goal in the match reported on 25 October. The Frenchman had also been described as close to reaching 100 goals for Real Madrid, two goals short of that total.
