Manchester United beat AS Roma 3-2 at Old Trafford in the Champions League on Tuesday after trailing 2-0 at half-time, Africa Top Sports reported. Bruno Fernandes reduced the deficit with a penalty in the 58th minute before Matheus Cunha scored twice, in the 83rd and 86th minutes. The Brazilian forward was nevertheless sent off in added time after receiving a second yellow card.

Roma scored through Matías Soulé in the 11th minute, from a pass by Rodrigo Mora, and then through Donyell Malen from the penalty spot in the 18th minute after a handball by Ayden Heaven. Manchester United equalised after an error by Leonardo Balerdi, while Bryan Mbeumo had earlier hit both posts in the same move, according to Africa Top Sports.

The victory came three days after Manchester United’s 2-0 defeat by Chelsea in the Premier League on 31 October. It is the first sporting step reported since Michael Carrick reaffirmed his desire to remain at Manchester United on 1 November.
