Football: Carlos Baleba goes off injured against AS Roma

Cameroonian Manchester United midfielder Carlos Baleba went off in the 48th minute against AS Roma after holding the back of his thigh. His participation in the Indomitable Lions’ next camp to face Namibia in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers is now uncertain, Africa Top Sports reports.

Cameroonian midfielder Carlos Baleba left Manchester United after suffering an injury in the 48th minute of the match against AS Roma on Tuesday 3 November in the Champions League. He stopped while holding the back of his thigh as the English club were 2-0 down at Old Trafford, Africa Top Sports reports.

Carlos Baleba, who was replaced by Youri Tielemans, may have suffered a muscle injury just days before the Cameroon squad’s camp. The Indomitable Lions are due to face Namibia in a two-legged tie in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The injury comes after Carlos Baleba’s preparations at Manchester United and his first announced start on 30 September. It also follows Manchester United’s 2-0 defeat by Chelsea in the Premier League on 31 October.
