Yan Diomandé, the 19-year-old Ivory Coast striker for Real Madrid, was applauded by opposing supporters during the match against Racing Santander. The player delivered an impressive performance, already marked by a volley in Madrid’s 3-0 victory, Africa Top Sports reported.
Racing Santander supporters applauded Ivory Coast striker Yan Diomandé, 19, during Real Madrid’s victory at the El Sardinero stadium on Sunday. Starting in the absence of Vinícius Júnior, the young Madrid player was praised for his performance and generosity, Africa Top Sports reported.
His defensive contribution, also highlighted by his English team-mate Jude Bellingham, has revived questions in the Spanish press about the hierarchy on the left side of Madrid’s attack. Manager José Mourinho avoided commenting on whether Vinícius might lose his starting place and favoured squad rotation ahead of the Champions League, according to Africa Top Sports.
The applause received in Santander came after Yan Diomandé’s goal and his selection as man of the match, announced on 1 November 2026.
