More than 10 US military transport aircraft landed in southern Israel within a week, notably at the Nevatim and Ovda bases. Their cargo was reportedly linked to reinforcing regional air defences, an unconfirmed hypothesis, the Times of Israel reports.
More than 10 US military transport aircraft landed within a week at the Israeli bases of Nevatim and Ovda, in the south of the country, the Times of Israel reports. Most had taken off from Biggs Army Airfield, near El Paso, Texas. The outlet also said that other US cargo aircraft had served bases in Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
The contents of the aircraft have not been identified. The Times of Israel suggested that they could be linked to the reinforcement of US air defences in the region, without official confirmation of this hypothesis.
The movements come as US and Israeli strikes against Iran, carried out on 28 February 2026, were followed by a ceasefire in April. Iran’s nuclear programme remains at the centre of tensions: IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said at the UN Security Council at the end of October that he had observed no restoration of sites hit by the 2025 and 2026 strikes. He asked Tehran to allow inspectors to return, as the agency no longer had continuous monitoring of Iran’s uranium stockpile, which stood at 440.9 kilograms enriched to up to 60%, according to its figures.
The arrivals follow the publication of reports about more than 80 US refuelling aircraft deployed in Israel, announced on 30 October 2026.
