Chad’s Education Minister, Mahamat Ahmat Al-habo, has ordered the identification of teachers absent from their assigned posts, one month after the start of the school year. A circular signed on 29 October asks administrative officials to quickly submit their names to safeguard the progress of lessons, according to N’Djaména Actu.
Chad’s Minister of State for National Education, Bilingualism and Civic Promotion, Mahamat Ahmat Al-habo, has ordered the immediate identification of teachers absent from their assigned posts and the submission of their names to the administration. The directive is contained in a circular signed on Thursday 29 October 2026, according to N’Djaména Actu.
One month after the start of the school year, the minister believes that the absence of some teachers could disrupt educational activities and prevent the completion of programmes on schedule. He has asked the entire administrative chain to apply the circular rigorously, according to N’Djaména Actu.
The instruction follows several directives addressed to the education sector, including a ban on excluding pupils over unpaid fees, announced on 16 October, and a requirement for teachers to devote 30 minutes to raising awareness about dengue, on 23 October.
