Bibou Nissack, a Cameroon Renaissance Movement member detained in Yaoundé, has lodged a complaint with the party’s arbitration committee against Henry Djoko, accusing him of treason and defamation. The complaint concerns remarks questioning his loyalty to Maurice Kamto and the MRC, reports Mimi Mefo Info.

Bibou Nissack, a member of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement (MRC) detained at Yaoundé-Kondengui Central Prison, has lodged a complaint against Henry Djoko with the party’s National Mediation and Arbitration Committee. The letter, received on 30 October 2026, accuses Djoko of defaming him, including by claiming that he had insulted Maurice Kamto, allied himself with the authorities and abandoned the MRC, reports Mimi Mefo Info.

Bibou Nissack is seeking Henry Djoko’s expulsion for treason, as well as the identification and punishment of any possible accomplices. He is also requesting an opinion from the committee warning party members against defamation and restoring his honour. He says rumours that a house was funded by the diaspora are unfounded, adding that construction, paid for with his personal funds, was halted by his prolonged detention, according to Mimi Mefo Info.

The complainant names Romaric Tenda and Me Roland Dieuwou as witnesses to a phone call, and Professor Fogué Tedom Alain and Zamboué Pascal as guarantors of his character. He fears that the campaign he attributes to Henry Djoko and possible accomplices could have consequences for his safety. He also proposes that the committee question his opponent about their respective contributions to the MRC cause, according to Mimi Mefo Info.

The complaint follows the MRC’s call to declare the office of president vacant in Cameroon, published on 29 October. The party had also announced on 20 October that it intended to sue Times TV for defamation, in a separate move over remarks it considered damaging to its reputation.
