Cameroon’s President Paul Biya received Monaco’s Sovereign Prince Albert II at the Unity Palace in Yaoundé on 30 October 2026 for a meeting focused on strengthening economic ties between Cameroon and the Principality. The meeting lasted almost an hour and a half, during an official 48-hour visit, according to Camer.be.

It was Albert II’s first visit to Cameroon since March 2003. The Monegasque sovereign and Paul Biya discussed the 23 years of friendship between the two countries, as well as prospects for cooperation in the economic and environmental fields, according to Camer.be.

The visit comes as Paul Biya has recently made few public appearances, while his foreign minister took part in the Russia-Africa summit on the same day. This follows the Cameroonian president’s absence from public view since September and his foreign minister’s participation in the Russia-Africa summit.
