The 2026 Tour du Faso commissaires’ jury imposed fines and point deductions on several riders and sports directors, including two Beninese riders and Nigerien Ibrahim Sani Boureima. The sanctions concern, among other things, drafting behind a vehicle and assault, according to the commissaires’ jury.

Beninese riders Ezer Mensah, race number 63, and Maurice C. Charbel Gandaho, race number 65, were each fined 35,800 CFA francs and deducted two points from the UCI ranking for drafting behind a vehicle or taking the slipstream of a vehicle. Nigerien rider Ibrahim Sani Boureima, race number 102, was fined 71,600 CFA francs and deducted 15 points for assaulting another rider, according to the commissaires’ jury of the 2026 Tour du Faso.

Four sports directors were also each fined 71,600 CFA francs for failing to comply with the commissaires’ instructions: Abdelbasat Hanachi, of Algeria’s national team, Thabiso Rengane, of Tshenolo Pro Cycling Team, R. Jérémie Ouédraogo, of Burkina Faso’s national team, and Jacques Lepère, of Flanders. A journalist, identified as another licensed person in the statement, was given a warning for an offence involving travelling in the opposite direction to traffic during the race.

For the ninth stage of the 2026 Tour du Faso, the jury set the feeding point from kilometre 10, with feeding suspended five kilometres from the finish, according to the race commissaires.
