Rescue teams recovered six more bodies on Thursday from the rubble of a multi-storey building that collapsed in Eastleigh, a neighbourhood of Nairobi. Kamukunji MP Yusuf Hassan confirmed the discoveries and said operations were continuing to find those still trapped, according to Capital FM.
Kenyan police had confirmed that four people were rescued alive after the collapse. Multi-agency teams are continuing the search, while authorities have asked the public to stay away from the area so that rescuers and their equipment can operate safely.
The discoveries add to those reported in articles on the three new bodies found under the rubble on 5 November and on the death toll reaching four the same day. They follow the recovery of two women’s bodies announced on 3 November.
