Traffic resumed on 7 November on the Semuliki bridge, on the road linking Beni to Kasindi, after five days of closure for rehabilitation works ordered by the military governor of North Kivu. The reopening restores the movement of people and goods between DR Congo and Uganda, according to Kivu Morning Post.
Traffic resumed on Saturday 7 November on the Semuliki bridge, located on the Beni-Kasindi road in the Beni territory, after five days of disruption linked to rehabilitation works. The reopening allows users to travel again between Beni and Kasindi, according to Kivu Morning Post.
The closure had disrupted the movement of people and goods between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda. Mumbere Kachengele Ngeche, a vehicle driver, said the resumption of traffic allowed transporters and other users to resume their daily activities.
