The system centralises application tracking and modernises the electronic management of administrative documents, according to Foreign Minister Ilza Amado Vaz.
São Tomé and Príncipe has put into service the Integrated Document and Procedural Management System (SYDOC) and the SYDOC-PASS platform for applications for diplomatic and special service passports. The system is intended to centralise and secure the receipt, registration, processing, control, dispatch and electronic archiving of documents, Rádio Somos Todos Primos reports.
The platform makes it possible to track the application and issuance procedure for official passports from requests by public institutions through processing by the National Directorate of State Protocol and the Migration and Borders Service, according to National Director of State Protocol Rui Alexandre César. It can also archive ongoing and completed files and ensure traceability for all users concerned.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities, Ilza Amado Vaz, said that SYDOC-PASS brings together the various stakeholders to improve interoperability between her ministry and other institutions. The system operates with the National Institute of Innovation and Knowledge (INIC), which is to provide the technological conditions and infrastructure necessary for its protection and operation, according to Rádio Somos Todos Primos.
The minister also called for institutional capacity to be strengthened, notably by adopting the legal framework for digital signatures and implementing digital identity, Rádio Somos Todos Primos reports.
