Twelve journalists from the Congolese News Agency and national television have been taking part in a five-day training course in Brazzaville since 26 October, focused on verifying information online, Congo-B reports. The programme is organised by Cfi, the French Media Development Agency, in cooperation with the European Union.
Participants are learning to check the context of a publication, identify images produced by artificial intelligence and secure data. The session also covers how social media works and how to handle information from dubious sources, according to Congo-B.
The training is part of the “InfoLis ango” project, supported by the European Union. Cfi, a subsidiary of France Médias Monde, supports media organisations in Africa, the Arab world, Asia and Europe in their development.
