The Russian delegation to upcoming talks with the United States and Ukraine will include Deputy Foreign Minister Sergueï Riabkov and a senior military staff official. The meeting scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday in Abu Dhabi is intended to prepare discussions on the war in Ukraine, according to Interfax, cited by Sowetan.

The Russian delegation will be led by Vladimir Medinsky, a Kremlin adviser and chief negotiator, while Deputy Foreign Minister Sergueï Riabkov will take part in the discussions for the first time, Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov told the Interfax news agency, according to Reuters. It will also include Youri Zhigarlovsky, a senior Russian military staff official, as well as Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhaïl Galouzine and Igor Kostyukov, head of Russian military intelligence.

The trilateral talks between Russia, the United States and Ukraine are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates. They are expected to focus on ending the war waged by Moscow against Ukraine and will be the first discussions in this format since February, Reuters reports.

All members of the delegation met Russian President Vladimir Poutine on Friday at a meeting of Russia's Security Council, which was partly devoted to preparations for the negotiations. Poutine thanked the United Arab Emirates for hosting the talks, according to Reuters.
