NNPCL cuts petrol price to 1,325 nairas in Abuja

Nigeria’s state-owned oil company NNPCL cut the price of petrol to 1,325 nairas per litre at its Abuja stations, from 1,370 to 1,405 nairas previously. The 45-to-80-naira reduction was observed on Wednesday by the Daily Post, following a cut in Dangote Refinery’s wholesale price.

Nigeria’s state-owned oil company NNPCL cut the price of petrol on Wednesday to 1,325 nairas per litre at its stations in Abuja and surrounding areas, from 1,370 to 1,405 nairas previously. The reduction, of between 45 and 80 nairas per litre, was observed at outlets in Gwarimpa and along the Kubwa Expressway, according to a Daily Post survey cited by the Ghanaian Chronicle.

An employee at an NNPCL station in Abuja confirmed that the new price had been applied in the afternoon. The decision came two days after Dangote Refinery cut the wholesale price of petrol to 1,215 nairas per litre, according to Daily Post.

The development follows the 81.67-naira reduction observed in Lagos on 1 November as petrol prices declined. NNPCL stations in Abuja now charge 45 to 80 nairas less than the price recorded before the measure, according to Daily Post.
