Nigeria’s APC endorsed Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as its candidate for re-election in Kano State during the launch of the 2027 presidential campaign. The Kaduna ceremony confirms Kano’s strategic role in the party’s mobilisation for Bola Tinubu, Pmnewsnigeria reports.

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party, on Saturday 24 October endorsed Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as its candidate for re-election in 2027, P.M. News Nigeria reports. The APC national chairman presented him with the party flag during the launch in Kaduna of Bola Tinubu’s presidential campaign.

Yusuf asked Kano’s presidential and gubernatorial campaign council to step up grassroots mobilisation to make the state the one that delivers the largest number of votes to Tinubu. He also called on its officials to defend the APC’s record and programmes rather than launch personal attacks.

The endorsement follows Abba Kabir Yusuf’s move from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) to the APC, a change that alters the balance of political forces in Kano. It comes as part of the launch of Bola Tinubu’s 2027 campaign in Kaduna on 24 October, which the governor attended. APC launches Tinubu’s 2027 campaign in Kaduna.
