Mbour Mayor Cheikh Issa Sall has challenged Senegalese PASTEF MPs after the 2026 supplementary finance bill was rejected. He cited funding for a hospital, schools, courts, social grants and a fire station, according to Seneweb.

Mbour Mayor Cheikh Issa Sall says the rejection of the 2026 supplementary finance bill threatens several projects in his municipality, and has challenged PASTEF MPs elected in the department. He cited the construction of a level-three hospital, the renovation of Demba Diop High School, the construction of a courthouse and a court, payment of social grants, the Xëyu Ndaw Ñi youth employment programme and a fire station, according to a statement published on his Facebook page and reported by Seneweb.

Cheikh Issa Sall called on the parliamentarians to explain to Mbour residents the consequences of their vote. He said political interests and personal ambitions should not take precedence over infrastructure projects and people’s daily needs, according to Seneweb.

The challenge follows PASTEF’s rejection of the Senegalese supplementary budget as it stands, announced on 30 October.
