Boubacar Barry, known as « Kötö Boubacar », was found dead in his bedroom at his home in Manéah, Guinea, on Saturday evening, Guinee7 reports. A relative of the victim said Barry’s wife, who had not heard from him since the previous day, called him at around 3pm to ask him to check whether Barry had been seen.

After several unanswered calls, the relative and his brother looked through the bedroom window at the wife’s request and saw the body lying on the floor. They alerted civil protection and the gendarmerie, which arrived at the scene. The relative said he noticed marks on the victim’s hands and a curtain placed on the bed.

The discovery comes after several deaths or killings reported in recent weeks, including the death of a six-year-old child in Ziguinchor, published on 1 November.
