Lac province approved its 2027-2031 five-year development plan in Bol on 6 November 2026, with a projected budget of 45 billion CFA francs. The validation workshop was chaired by General Saleh Haggar Tidjani, the government’s general delegate to the province, in the presence of Moustapha Mahamat Mamadou, president of the Provincial Council, Tchadinfos reports.
The plan rests on four pillars: resilience and social cohesion, the modernisation of basic social infrastructure, the development of agricultural and pastoral value chains, and digital governance and the energy transition. Moustapha Mahamat Mamadou called for a realistic, inclusive programme adapted to the needs of the population.
UNDP will support the province in its development and local governance efforts. The plan is notably intended to define priority projects, their costs, implementation timetable and sources of funding, according to Tchadinfos.
