A court in Yala, Kenya, has issued an arrest warrant for a clinician in Siaya County accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl. The prosecution sought the warrant after the accused failed to appear at the hearing where he was due to enter a plea, according to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
The clinician is charged with defilement under Kenya’s Sexual Offences Act 2006. He also faces an alternative charge of committing an indecent act with a child. The ODPP says the alleged offences took place on multiple occasions between January 2026 and 23 August 2026 in Yala Constituency, Siaya County.
On 29 October, the ODPP said it had reviewed an inquiry file submitted by the National Police Service and recommended prosecution. The case is due to be mentioned again on 11 November 2026.
