Guinea’s Collective of Temporary Contract Workers is calling for its members to be granted civil service status, with some saying they have worked in public administration for 5, 10 or 15 years for 550,000 GNF. At a press conference held in Conakry on 31 October 2026, the collective called on President Mamadi Doumbouya and the authorities to regularise their status, according to Guinee7.

The Collective of Temporary Contract Workers of Guinea (CCTG) on Saturday called on President Mamadi Doumbouya to convert the contracts of thousands of public administration workers into civil service positions. Meeting at the Conakry Labour Exchange, its members said they had been working for the state for between five and 15 years, or even longer, according to Guinee7.

The contract workers said they were listed in the Unified Administrative and Payroll Management File (FUGAS), but received only 550,000 Guinean francs a month, with no bonus, allowance, health coverage or other social benefit. The CCTG said it had requested meetings with several government members, the prime minister and the president of the National Assembly, without receiving a response, according to Guinee7.
