Dominic Kunene has temporarily resumed charge of Sihlangu, Eswatini’s men’s national football team, for the friendly against Malta scheduled for November. The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) confirmed his appointment and said a permanent head coach had already been selected, with discussions over his remuneration under way.

Caleb Ngwenya will be Kunene’s assistant, Siza Dlamini the fitness coach and Thokozani Mamba the goalkeeping coach. The incoming head coach is expected to join the team during the November 2026 international window and may travel with the delegation to Malta, according to the EFA.

Kunene returns to the national team after leading it from 2020 to 2024. His record stands at 42 matches, with 12 wins, 13 draws and 17 defeats; he notably took Eswatini to the semi-finals of the 2021 COSAFA Cup. His appointment comes ahead of Eswatini’s match against Malta, scheduled for 12 November 2026.
