Promising young footballers from Eswatini visited the Kaizer Chiefs centre in Johannesburg, South Africa, as part of a scouting and training programme. The partnership with the Scara Thindwa Foundation has already helped some players enter professional South African football, according to the Times of Eswatini.
Young Eswatini footballers visited the Kaizer Chiefs training centre in Naturena, Johannesburg, as part of the Scara Thindwa Soccer Foundation programme supported by KFC Eswatini. The delegation was led by England Nigel, Chief Executive Officer of KFC Eswatini, along with several outstanding players from the 2026 programme, reports the Times of Eswatini.
The partnership between KFC Eswatini and the foundation began three years ago to identify and support grassroots football talent. According to England Nigel, some players trained through the programme have joined professional South African football, including at TS Galaxy. The young visitors spoke with Kaizer Chiefs players and staff before attending the Soweto derby against Orlando Pirates.
Kaizer Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung praised KFC’s investment in young people. Former club striker Scara Thindwa, meanwhile, urged the players to remain committed to their sporting ambitions, reports the Times of Eswatini.
