The government of the Democratic Republic of Congo plans to allocate 14,091 billion Congolese francs, or about $6.1 billion, to the pillar covering defence, internal security, stabilisation, justice and diplomacy in its 2027 draft budget. Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka presented the allocation to MPs on Thursday 29 October, according to newspaper Le Potentiel.

The funds are intended in particular to strengthen the operational capabilities of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo and security services through training, equipment and logistical support. The government also plans to improve support for military personnel and police officers. The allocation was announced as areas of North Kivu and South Kivu remain occupied by AFC/M23.

The total budget of 56,930 billion Congolese francs was deemed admissible by the National Assembly on 31 October, a parliamentary step that followed the presentation of its main priorities. The planned security expenditure is part of this proposal, whose overall amount reaches 56,930 billion Congolese francs.
