Nigerian President Bola Tinubu says the naira could have lost all its value without the decisions taken since he came to power in 2023. He believes the currency would then have required so many banknotes that a wheelbarrow would have been used to carry them, reports Daily Post Nigeria.

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu said the naira could have lost all its value if his government had not taken certain decisions since he came to power in 2023. He said Nigerians could have needed a wheelbarrow to carry their currency, according to the Daily Post.

Tinubu thus defended the economic choices of his administration, saying that a sharp deterioration in the value of the naira would have made a considerable quantity of banknotes necessary to make payments, according to the Daily Post.
