Wagner Group occupies three schools in Vakaga

Russian mercenaries from the Wagner Group now occupy the schools in Zinzir and Oulu, in the Central African Republic’s Vakaga prefecture, in addition to the one in Boromata. Residents are reportedly forced to work for them and traders have their goods taken, according to information gathered by Corbeau News Centrafrique.

Russian Wagner Group fighters now occupy the schools in Zinzir and Oulu, two localities in the Vakaga prefecture, in addition to the one in Boromata. Pupils can no longer attend their lessons normally, according to information gathered by Corbeau News Centrafrique.

A local education inspector who came to request the buildings’ return was offered the construction of a hangar to accommodate the pupils. Residents are also being forced to carry out work for the fighters, while traders have their goods taken without payment, reports Corbeau News Centrafrique.

The extension to three villages comes after the occupation of the Boromata school, where pupils have been deprived of lessons for a week. It also follows the ambush against Wagner fighters in Vakaga, announced on 1 November.
