Tunisian security units dismantled a network specialising in trafficking psychotropic tablets containing pregabalin in Awabed, in the Sfax region, on Thursday evening. Two people were arrested, including the main suspect, who was wanted for drug trafficking and considered dangerous, according to a security source quoted by TAP news agency.

The operation led to the seizure of nearly 4,000 psychotropic tablets, a motorbike and a sum of money. The second suspect is suspected of having concealed the tablets and acted as an intermediary for their distribution, according to the same source.

Investigations are continuing to identify any other possible members of the network. The operation follows several anti-drug operations carried out in October, including the seizure of 8,000 tablets in Msaken on 27 October and the dismantling of two networks in Sousse on 1 October.
