The National Rally of Independents (RNI), a Moroccan party now in opposition after the 23 September legislative elections, will hold its congress on 22 and 23 January 2027. Rachid Talbi Alami will lead the committee preparing it, Yabiladi reports; the party must then prepare for several elections scheduled for 2027.

Morocco’s National Rally of Independents (RNI) will hold its next congress on 22 and 23 January 2027, with Rachid Talbi Alami leading the preparatory committee, Yabiladi reports.

The congress will take place after the RNI moved into opposition following the 23 September legislative elections, in which the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) won the most seats in the House of Representatives. The party will then have to prepare for municipal, regional and professional elections, as well as the renewal of the House of Councillors, according to Yabiladi.

The meeting comes ahead of a busy election year and after several defections from the RNI before the legislative elections. It continues the reorganisation begun after Mohamed Chaouki was elected party president on 7 February 2026, replacing Aziz Akhannouch. The PAM led Morocco’s legislative elections, reported on 24 September, while the RNI’s participation in Morocco’s next government was rejected, as reported on 3 October.
