South African companies seek contracts through BRICS ties

South African companies are seeking to turn their relations with BRICS countries into contracts, trade and investment. This new direction prioritises tangible economic benefits, according to the Daily Maverick.

More than ten years after the creation of the BRICS Business Council, ties forged by South African companies with the group’s major economies are starting to lead to contracts, the Daily Maverick reports.

South Africa’s participation in BRICS has also strengthened its links with economies in the East, the West and the emerging South. The outlet says these partnerships can help diversify markets for South African companies and strengthen their place in global and African value chains.
